Amanda Knox Murder Case Update: Knox’s Ex-Boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito Claims He is Innocent of the Crime through His Thesis “Social Network Analysis and Semantic Proximity”

By

Raffaelle Sollecito, Amanada Knox's ex-boyfriend and co-defendant to the latter's murder case reasserts his innocence of the murder of Meredith Kercher in 2007. Sollecito claims that he has proven his innocence by looking into the social media networks and analyzing the people's perception on him being part of the case.

In a previous article in CNN, Amanda Knox's ex-boyfriend was quoted saying, "This has been a real tragedy. I'm not a criminal."

As reported by London's The Telegraph, Sollecito's completed thesis was supported by the analysis of social media patterns. The results show that people perceives him innocent rather than guilty of the murder.

In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Sollecito said, "On the day that we were convicted, my name was associated with the word 'innocent' twice as many times as with the word 'guilty.'"

Sollecito said he has analyzed his own case for his thesis called "Social Network Analysis and Semantic Proximity." He added, "What was interesting was that in the days after we were reconvicted, there was a complete inversion - for the justice system we were guilty, but on the web, or at least among those internet search engines that I studied, the interpretation was exactly the opposite."

Meanwhile, Amanda Knox remains mum about the recent updates on the case. Her last post on social media was early this year where she wrote on Twitter: "I will not willingly submit myself to injustice #amandaknox."

UK's Mirror earlier reported that Italian prosecutors have linked Knox to cocaine dealers. The prosecutors claimed they have already arrested one of the dealers based on the information they got from Knox's phone.

Most recent reports by UK's Mirror include the Italian prosecutors' attempt to extradite Knox back to Italy.

Knox's trial lawyers requested Italy's Court to review conviction of Knox on Meredith Kercher's murder in 2007. The Court of Cassation is expected to issue its ruling on the petition by the end of the year.
