"Madden NFL 15" is reportedly slated to be released for the next generation consoles on August 26 for PS4 and Xbox One action, according to Electronic Arts Sports, who is the publisher of the upcoming football game.
The official announcement of the new video game was preceded by a trailer featuring Carolina Panthers lineback Luke Kuechly. SB Nation reported that the football player had won 2013 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, which is his second major award. Kuechly has only been in the National Football League for two seasons.
In a press release issued earlier this year, that EA had promised then that the upcoming football game would have the "most immersive gameplay control in the history of the franchise," Breathcast.com reported.
Despite Kuechly's success, fans of the football video game series opted for popular veterans to land on the product cover. In a poll set up by EA, majority had wanted Seattle Seahawks corner Richard Sherman and Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton to be on the cover after garnering a collective 9.6 million votes. Sherman was later declared as the winner when the votes have been counted, prompting EA to adopt a "defensive theme" for his video game this year.
When the votes were counted, Richard Sherman came out to be the winner and it seems that the game will have a "defensive theme" as the focus this year. Fans also find that the Seahawks standout and Superbowl champion is the best for the face of 'Madden 15'.
EA Sports Vice-President of Gobal Marketing Anthony Stevenson was quoted as saying, "Richard Sherman is a fantastic cover athlete selection by the fans. Defense is a big focus for Madden NFL 15, and Sherman is one of the brightest defensive stars in the NFL. He shares the same energy and passion for the game as our 'legion' of Madden fans."
Madden NFL 15 will release on August 26 in United States and August 29 in Europe on all platforms. Meanwhile, check out the "Madden NFL 15" gameplay features below:
