One of the most prominent cartoon characters in the industry, SpongeBob Squarepants is set to appear on the big screen for the second time.
"The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" is the sequel to the 2004 first SpongeBob film (that earned $140 million worldwide, and $85 million in the U.S. alone). It has been a decade ago since the Nickelodeon cartoon released its first firm, but it is safe to say that the box-office hit will be back to deploy comedy and gags once again, now in 3D.
The "SpongeBob Squarepants" television show first aired on 1999 and had been continuously successful throughout the years. Nevertheless, making another movie of the world's most famous yellow sponge with his hilarious gang of sea creatures is a great project.
The trailer, meanwhile, has already been released. It began with the introduction of an evil pirate who purposely handed a magical storybook. Afterwards, the Bikini Bottom was featured under a state of havoc, and the pack (SpongeBob, Patrick Star, Mr. Krabs, Sandy Cheeks, Squidward Tentacles, and Plankton) decided to head to our world to save their territory.
Meanwhile, with the use of the magical book, SpongeBob rewrote the story so they could have superpowers to fight against the evil pirate played by Antonio Banderas.
Official synopsis, according to Fashion & Style, reads: "SpongeBob goes on a quest to discover a stolen recipe that takes him to our dimension, our world, where he tangles with a pirate."
With the success of SpongeBob's prominence on Nickelodeon, it is safe to say that the upcoming movie will be a great one.
"The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water 3D" premieres on February 6, 2015.
