Goodbye Sam & Cat! iCarly and Victorious Spinoff Show Gets Axed After Jennette McCurdy’s Leaked Racy Pictures and Fight with Ariana Grande

Nickelodeon's "Sam & Cat" might have already ended but it doesn't mean its fans have stopped pining for it. As its final episode aired last July 17, supporters of the series started to deal with the "iCarly" and "Victorious" hybrid show's sudden drop by nitpicking on the details that led to its cancellation.

So, what really caused the sudden axing of Sam & Cat?

Sources point to different reasons but the main culprits are reportedly Jennette McCurdy's racy leaked photos and animosity between the show's stars.

Sam &Cat, which was originally given a 40-episode season offer after four aired episodes was cancelled following a leak of a trio of McCurdy's nearly naked pictures in Instagram. The shots featured the actress behind the spunky "Sam" wearing a lingerie in seductive poses, LATimes reports. The said pictures were said to have been leaked by McCurdy's ex-boyfriend, NBA player Andre Drummond.

Following this, the 22-year old actress released a long rant in social media site Reddit, talking about how she is not a role model and that she is not claiming or trying to be one. In her statement, McCurdy admits that her actions are part of her growing up. Kpopstarz even quoted her saying "I might not be any wiser, but I like to think I'm more honest."

Racy pictures aside, another reason which supposedly pushed the Dan Schneider show's early cancellation is the feud between Jennette and fellow star Ariana Grande. Rumors state that Jennette was mad that Ariana made more money on the show more than she did, something that the latter dismissed and called "completely ridiculous." Hollywoodlife.com spills that Jennette also posted a feisty message which refers to a "trouble friend" who was a "leech for drama and gossip,"-- a statement which a lot felt to be referring to Ariana.

The Nickelodeon sweetheart, however, viciously slammed this rumor by saying that she was having issues with Nickelodeon instead. On July 22, Jennette also debunked news about the animosity between her and her co-star by tweeting her condolonces to Ariana after news about her grandfather's demise.
