Developer Kiwi secured another $15 million as it closed its Series B funding, with Northgate Capital leading the round along with other investors DFJ Venture and Sequioa Capital. Kiwi is responsible for games such as Westbound and Shipwrecked. The developer plans to use the recent investment to fund the development of future releases.
Founded in August 2011, the company was set up by co-founders, Omar Siddiqui and Shvetank Jain. They were able to raise $6 million during the previous funding led by Sequioa Capital.
Siddiqui was quoted, "Our early focus in the rapidly growing Android ecosystem has allowed us to build top free-to-play mobile games on Google Play and develop tools that we are making available broadly to benefit all developers. This new funding round will help us to bring these tools to market as we also invest in the next generation of our cross-platform, mobile titles."
