It won't be long before "Real Housewives of Atlanta" husband Apollo Nida is sent off to jail for the multiple fraud charges he was convicted of recently. But now Nida's wife (and "Real Housewife") Phaedra Parks may be in a little legal trouble herself.
According to Radar Online, reports are circling that Parks is "'thwarting' justice and making 'a mockery' of the legal system." It turns out that Angela Stanton, an old acquaintance of Parks, is accusing the reality star of running a fraud and theft scheme that may rival her husband's in scope.
Apparently, Parks had been dodging questions about such a scheme, but she finally sat down to discuss them back in June. And the results do not make Parks look good.
Here's what Radar Online has about the discussion:
"Parks frequently refused to answer questions and discuss topics that have the strongest relevance to the instant case," the documents claim, "thus thwarting truth-finding function of the discovery process and impeding 'the progress of this case and possible rulings' . . . Namely, she refused to answer any questions regarding her relationship with and knowledge of the criminal activities of her husband, Apollo Nida, a man with numerous and recent convictions and financial crimes."
However, according to Inquisitr, Parks has fired back against Stanton, filing a libel lawsuit for the insinuations that she is a criminal on the level of her husband. According to Parks, Stanton is envious of her status as a reality star, and the accusations of such a serious crime is based on nothing but petty resentment.
It might all be a moot point as far as Parks and Nida are concerned, though, as KpopStarz claims that Parks has dumped Nida just in time for his jail time to begin.
