Fans of "True Blood" are not the only ones grieving after the show's finale last Sunday night. Alexander Skarsgard, who plays thousand-year-old Eric Northman, in the series, openly admitted that he was also so sad while he was shooting his final scenes.
In an interview with E!Online, the 37-year old hunky actor described the experience as, "the saddest moment of my career, for sure." He added: "I was ready to move on creatively. I thought it was time, so I was sort of prepared for it, but I cried like a baby. It was so sad. The last couple of weeks leading up to my final scenes that I shot were extremely emotional. I'm already missing it."
NYDailyNews.com also spills that Skarsgard's co-star, Kristin Bauer van Straten, convinced him to take a memento from the set. The actor shares that he was already in London (having wrapped up earlier before the other "True Blood" cast members to start shooting "Tarzan") when Kristin shared that she took her fangs as a souvenir. He then shares to E!Online, "I thought, 'That would probably be fun to have," so she's got my fangs waiting for me in L.A."
Despite the ending of the HBO favorite, however, fans of the actor will have more things to look forward to. In fact, Skarsgard has a few things lined up for him in the big screen!
Bustle.com provides a list of the hunk's future projects with Phillip Noyce's movie adaptation of the young adult best-seller, "The Giver" leading the pack. Despite admitting at first that he wasn't originally that familiar with the novel (in which he plays as Katie Holmes husband,) he claimed that he found the story fascinating after reading the script.
Another project of the "True Blood" alum is "Hidden," a horror film set to open in 2014, which tells the story of a father (played by Skarsgard) who hid in his bunker for 301 days along with his wife and daughter after an epidemic breakout. The project, which is created by first-time writer-directors Matt and Ross Duffer, required 6'4 foot tall Skarsgard to drop a lot of weight.
"The Diary of a Teenage Girl" (set to open in 2015) and "Tarzan" (set to open in 2016) which he co-stars with Margot Robbie, Samuel L. Jackson, and Christoph Waltz, moreover, will both feature Skarsgard in period costumes.
So, are you ready to see Eric North switching up his fangs for a top hat and coat tails? We say, "Yes please."
