First teaser image for "Game of Thrones" game under Telltale revealed on Twitter; Game hinted to feature original character from an unbiased house, may focus on Stannis Baratheon's storyline

The first teaser image for the "Game of Thrones" game series has been unveiled, hinting of a focus on House Forrester and Stannis Baratheon's storyline. The game could have a similar release date as the HBO show's fifth season.

According to Winter is Coming, the teaser image was released via Telltale Games' official Twitter account. Upon its release, it sparked several rumors about the setting of the games, and considering that game creators have not been sharing any information, fans of the book and TV series are continuing to speculate. The image, which included an excerpt from "A Dance with Dragons," had the snippet: "...Trackers and hunters sworn to Deepwood with clan names like Forrester and Woods, Branch and Bole." "A Dance with Dragons" is the fifth book in George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, says Game Rant.

It is possible that the game will feature an original character, as IGN took note of the mention of "Forrester" and shared that the House Forrester is "sworn to House Glover of Deepwood Motte" and is "from the Wolfswood in the North." The house is also mentioned as scouts sent by Lady Glover to aid Stannis Baratheon.

According to Game Rant, House Forrester is "occasionally mentioned in the books but never seen." Zap2It considers the house to be a viable choice for the games because no character from the house has been introduced yet. "It certainly makes sense that the game would draw from a family that avid 'Game of Thrones' fans would have no major bias towards," the article noted.

The teaser also includes the hashtag #IronfromIce, which Game Rant believes to be referring to Baratheon as the "Iron." In the last season of the TV series Baratheon "entered the conflict with the Others (the "Ice") beyond the wall." Zap2It says that the quote from the teaser is said by Asha Greyjoy in "A Dance with Dragons," which could hint of a focus on Baratheon and Asha's storylines converging. Asha Greyjoy is Yara in the TV series, clarifies the article.

Nothing much is known about the game yet, but according to Game Rant, it will be following the events in the TV series, not the books. For now, Telltale Games is more involved with "The Walking Dead" games and "The Wolf Among Us."

Game Rant also predicts that the game series will be released alongside the new season of "Game of Thrones" in 2015. This will not be the first "Game of Thrones" video game to be released, however. According to Winter is Coming, earlier games tied in with the series have not been met with much support. The reputation of Telltale Games linked with their adaptation of "The Walking Dead" and "Fable" is causing a hype, though, and fans of the series believe that this could be a good one, says Winter is Coming. The site thinks that the world of "Game of Thrones" suits the Adventure game studio's style, and that the game could incorporate emotional complexity, tough moral choices, superb voice acting, and high-quality animated graphics.

Zap2It reports Ty Corey Franck to be working on the "point-and-click" game with "Destiny" writer Joshua Rubin.
