"America's Got Talent" host Nick Cannon had shocked Hollywood then by revealing that the he and his wife Mariah Carey have long been sleeping apart, indicating that their marriage is in trouble. In addition, there is gossip about the singer drinking all through the night to distract herself from the painful reality of her husband's absence to a point that friends said launches into a "make-believe" sequence thinking that Cannon is still by her side, Classicalite said.
An insider close to the situation revealed that Nick and Mariah did share a lot of beautiful and perfect moments together, but both of them changed and so did the dynamics of their union, as reported by Us Weekly for their September 8 issue. After six years, the two had already raised the white flags.
"She is used to being treated like a princess and waited on hand and foot. Nick treated her that way in the beginning, but then his career took off and is priorities shifted. He thought she had this incredible work ethic, but she's become a housewife."
Amidst the rumors about infidelity issues against Nick, his father James Cannon, a devout Christian, remained adamant that regarding his sons commitment to his married life. he told New York Post's Page Six, "The only thing I can say is that sometimes marriages break down because of cheating or beating, but that's not this case. Were temptations ever there with other women? Not for Nick, he genuinely loved the married life. But did that stop other women coming to him? Probably not. I know Nick tries really hard to stay focused and would say: 'I'm with the most outstanding, gorgeous woman. I've hit the jackpot so why would I be with someone else?'"
James believed that as they pursue their individual dreams, they have been caught in a web of people and influences that draw them apart, so they got tired and eventually made mistakes.
Moreover, the father expressed his support for whatever Nick might decide on later in his marriage and said, "Whatever decision [Nick] makes I'm going to support him."
Meanwhile, Nick seems to be ready to move forward as an eligible bachelor, reported Huffington Post. In fact he even gave some dating advice on how to ask a woman out.
Citing his interview with Hello Beautiful, the sometimes producer also said, "You say, 'Hey, what are you and your friends doing? I want to come hang out with y'all.' Or, 'let's all go together.' So that takes all the pressure off of it of this whole one on one conversation.' I'm a true believer in everything has to start off as a friendship first so it was never really about dating. Everybody that I was probably ever serious with it always started off like, 'Yo, let's just be cool,' and then it turned into something else."
