Fans may fervently be awaiting the release of "Grand Theft Auto V" on PC and next-gen consoles, but those fans might be waiting just a little bit longer.
Or perhaps they'll be waiting for a lot longer.
We initially reported here at VC Post that "Grand Theft Auto" might have a tenative November release date, but now the latest reports have claimed that this is no longer the case.
According to a rumor in Fox Weekly, the fifth "Grand Theft Auto" game has been hit with a series of massive delays. The original rumor claimed that the game's next-gen release date would be hit with significant delays, and the PC version would be cancelled outright.
Those at Fox Weekly contacted those who first leaked the rumor, and were met with this response:
"The next-gen console launch dates are still intact, but the PC game launch has been agitating for Rockstar staff."
As for now, this rumor is unconfirmed, but PSXExtreme claims a Rockstar customer service employee has stated there's no delay. Of course, the customer service department isn't usually the highest level of any company, so we shouldn't take that as a straight-up fact.
Here's the quote from customer service:
"I'm also looking forward to the PC release, however this release date has not changed. Please see our support article, 'Grand Theft Auto V Release Date on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and PC' for the most recent information on this topic."
Sounds a lot like a pre-written response, so consider a potential "GTA" delay as still very much in the cards.
And PSXExtreme also adds that this could all be a "smokescreen," and that Rockstar could announce the official delay at any time.
We'll know for sure in the coming weeks. Check back soon for the latest "Grand Theft Auto" updates.
