All good things must come to an end. But "save the best for last" must be in creator Kurt Sutter's mind as he entices fans with what to expect when the final season kicks off next week.
"The body count is intense because Jax is in full vengeance mode," Sutter says in a recent interview with E!News. "As a result of that, the gloves are off and those risks are being taken that perhaps may not have been taken in previous seasons, because the stakes are so high."
With FX's promotional drive zeroed in on Jax changing into a chopper-riding Grim Reaper, fans anticipate a high body count. In fact, characters will be dying "in almost every episode" as the drama unfolds.
A couple of the remaining 10 members of the outlaw motorcycle club will be pushing up daisies. "Two club members will be dead," Sutter tells EW. "I don't think there'll be more than that," which teases of Juice's (played by Theo Rossi) seemingly inevitable death (talk about foreboding). Fans definitely expect Jax Teller (played by Charlie Hunnam) will hound and come for Juice Ortiz after the club became aware of his betrayal and becoming an antagonist during the end of Season 6.
The final season will also be expanding its cast. SOA will welcome guest stars Annabeth Gish of FX drama "The Bridge", rock stars Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love, Lea Michele of "Glee" fame, and Malcolm-Jamal Warner of the long-running NBC sitcom "The Cosby Show".
Meanwhile, to get fans thrilled and psyched about the season as it approaches, FX has produced a behind-the-scenes video dubbed "Inside The Final Ride: It Begins ..."
Season 7 will begin with "Black Widower", a special 1 hour and 45 minute episode, written by Kurt Sutter and directed by executive producer Paris Barclay.
