Many were shocked and angry over the very private photos but now an artist is planning to display photos of Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton in an art gallery in St. Petersburg, Florida which was announced in the gallery's website.
It was just a week ago that someone had managed to hack Apple's iCloud service and leak tons of nude photos of various Hollywood celebrities and that includes Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence and Sports Illustrated supermodel Kate Upton.
Artist XVALA who will be putting up the nude celebrity photos will be included in his collected titled "No Delete", which is part of the theme of invasion of privacy. FOX411 recently did an interview with XVALA explaining why he is doing this and he had this to say, "This show has been in the works for about two years now. When this came out... about Jennifer Lawrence [and] Kate Upton, it was the perfect dialogue. It was about invasion of privacy." The artist adds that it was the perfect final installment to the collection.
The gallery itself which is compromised of various celebrities caught in private or vulnerable moments via hackers or paparazzi aims to spread awareness over the debate of privacy in the digital age. The gallery's publicist, Cory Allen says that, "The commentary behind this show is a reflection of who we are today. We all become 'users' and in the end, we become 'used'."
As expected, the two celebrities are planning to take legal action against XVALA and anyone who goes around spreading the private nude photos. The representative of Jennifer Lawrence said that, "The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.
The leaked nude photos of celebrities have garnered varying responses from said celebrities and other celebrities as well. Emma Watson went on her personal twitter and says, "Even Worse than seeing women's privacy violated on social media is reading the accompanying comments that show lack of empathy." Kristen Dunst whose nude photos were also leaked had this to say on her twitter, "Thank you iCloud piece of ****."
The celebrity nude leak was reportedly first reported on the on the subreddit TheFappening. The hacked nude photos include celebrities include a long list of celebrities like Avril Lavigne, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kaley Cuoco, Kim Kardashian, Victoria Justice, and many more.
