NBA Rumors: Eric Bledsoe leaving the door open for the Phoenix Suns to increase its offer

By

It's less than a month to go before the Phoenix Suns open up training camp but there is still no official news on Eric Bledsoe's future with the team. The long standing stale mate between the Suns and Bledsoe for a new contract extension is still not over and Paul Coro of azcentral sports reveals that latter was not even in Phoenix the entire offseason:

Eric Bledsoe's whereabouts never have included Phoenix since the end of the regular season in April. Bledsoe has not even been close with his recent locales. He mostly has been training and with his family in his hometown of Birmingham. He popped into Atlanta a week ago for a party and workout with college buddy John Wall. He spent some of last week in Cleveland for a workout with LeBron James that was marked by James prodding the Suns with a "PHX break bread" Instagram post regarding Bledsoe, his fellow Klutch Sports Group client.

While Bledsoe's agent has been in contact with the Suns front office during the offseason, Bledsoe has shown unwillingness to make a face to face meeting with the team unless they are ready to give him the five year, $80 million contract that he wants and believes that he is worth. With Bledose playing hard ball and training camp about to open, does this mean that the Suns are now working to increase their offer sheet to the budding star as what Bryan Rose of Fan Sided suggests?

Its clear that money is the primary reason why Bledsoe is doing the silent treatment to the Suns. He wants long term security and threatens to sign the qualifying offer if the Suns won't give him what he wants. But Bledsoe has not gone ahead and signed the qualifying offer which means that he and his camp are "leaving the door open for the Suns to cave" per Yahoo Sports.

Eric Bledsoe still wants to be with the Phoenix Suns and is not unhappy with the franchise's direction or else he would have already signed the qualifying offer now like what his fellow restricted free agent Greg Monroe has done with the Detroit Pistons. He just wants long term security and with training camp nearing, the Suns may soon give in to his demands and the long standing stale mate will finally be over.
