TrustedReviews.com reports that two versions of the iPhone 6 will definitely go on sale on Friday, September 19. Apple has officially announced its eight-generation iPhone at a special media event in Cupertino. The new smartphone is believed to help place Apple back to the pedestal with its brand new offering in terms of size, specs, power and performance.
"Today, we are launching the biggest advancement in the history of the iPhone," Apple CEO Tim Cook said at the event.

Display/Outer Features
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are said to be an enormous leg up as compared to the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. iPhone 6 is ultrathin at a width of just 6.9mm, which makes it one of the thinnest in the market. It is in fact so thin that its camera lens is protruding from its body. The body measures 138.1mm x 67mm. Apple has decided to make some key changes on the surface by switching the placement of the power/lock key from the top of the handset to the right side of the phone. This has been believed to be a move in order to reduce the difficulty of using the phone by one hand, which is the main problem in phablets. On the left hand side, volume keys have been placed below a mute toggle switch.
Hardware/Software
The iPhone 6 versions both have the premium retina display, the new "Retina HD" offering with a 1334 x 750 resolution in a 4.7-inch LED back-lit display. However, the classic iPhone 6 has been beaten by iPhone 6 Plus thanks to its full HD, 1920 x 1080 5.5-inch screen with a 401ppi display.
Because of the visual demands of the phone, the iPhone 6 versions naturally demands a powerful processor too. Both phones are equipped with an A8, 64-bit second generation processor and a next-generation M8 motion coprocessor, and a rumored 1GB RAM. Apple's iOS 8, which was announced at its WWDC developers conference earlier this year, was utilized for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Apple also boasts an iSight camera to improve camera photo quality. Its rear camera is 8MP with a new wide angle iSight lens, true tone flash, f/2.2 aperture, greater noise reduction and a 2 x faster autofocus. The phone's image signal processor that was built into the A8 chip enables the iPhone 6 versions to be the next frontier of the company in terms of image handling.
Pricing and Release date
According to BGR, the new 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will start at $199 on contract, while the iPhone 6 Plus starts at $299. In addition, the iPhone 5s will remain available at the $99 on-contract price point and the iPhone 5c will be free on contract. Pre-orders for the phone will begin on September 12, ahead of the release date on September 19.
