Choosing between the Nokia X2 and the Nokia Lumia 630 is proving to be a challenge, as both of the smartphones have great features. Microsoft's offerings are also both budget-friendly, making them a viable choice for those looking for functional phones with good software and hardware but are not on the high end of the price spectrum.
But the specifications of the two differ, and this will be the deciding factor on which one to choose. According to IB Times, Nokia X2 comes equipped with a 4.3-inch IPS LCD display boasting a 480x800 pixel resolution, while Nokia Lumia 630 has a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display and a 480x854 pixel resolution. As for the processor, Nokia X2 runs on a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Cortex-A7 processor clocking at 1.2GHz. In this aspect, Nokia Lumia 630 proves to be superior with its quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 ARM Cortex-A7 processor at 1.2GHz. However, it only has 512 MB of RAM compared to X2's 1GB of RAM, making their speeds almost even.
Microsoft lists Nokia X2's camera to be a 5MP LED flash type with auto focus and one-touch capturing features, while Microsoft's page for Nokia Lumia 630 simply lists it as having a 5MP primary camera. Though both are listed on Microsoft, KpopStarz notes: "Nokia X2 runs on Microsoft's version of the Android system while the Nokia Lumia 630 is a Windows Phone-powered device."
Battery sizes also differ, with Nokia Lumia 630 having Li-Ion 1830 mAh compared to Nokia X2's Li-Ion 1800 mAh. According to IB Times, Nokia X2's battery life is enough for 13 hours of talk time and 23 days on standby. The article compares that Nokia Lumia 630's battery can provide the same length of talk time, but can offer up to four more days of standby time.
Both have the standard support for Bluetooth and WiFi. WiFi hotspot is also available and both use USB charging. A dual SIM support, including micro SIMs, is also available for the two Nokia phones.
If it's a matter of color, one can have plenty of choices as both smartphones come in a variety. Nokia X2 is offered in glossy green, yellow, white, orange, black, and matted dark grey, while Nokia Lumia 630 sports bright orange, yellow, green, and black and white.
