Being a "Real Housewife" is a lucrative gig- according to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Tamra Barney has a $600,000 salary for her role on "Real Housewives of Orange County."
But with those big bucks comes a grave cost- reality TV drama. This time, in the form of Barney, who's been raging around Bravo, in the face of accusations that she's been fired, and also her upcoming absence from the show.
The same piece in Celeb Dirty Laundry claims that Barney was initially going to be fired from "Real Housewives of Orange County," but is now claiming that she quit of her own accord to try and save face.
Which is basically what every housewife on "Real Housewives" does after being booted from the program.
Celeb Dirty Laundry also adds that Barney wasn't willing to leave the show to the point of losing custody of her own children to stay aboard "Real Housewives"- the idea that she would suddenly turn tail and quit, then, doesn't seem so likely.
A Facebook post from Barney (which has since been taken down, but can be seen in another Celeb Dirty Laundry piece) details Barney's reponse to her potential firing this summer. Here's what she said:
"Okay so the rumors will not stop flying about me. I rarely comment on this trash but this one made me laugh! NO I DID NOT GET FIRED, NO, WE ARE NOT ON THE VERGE OF GETTING CANCELLED, NO WE ARE NOT THE LEAST INTERESTING, NO I AM NOT GETTING DIVORCED #whatsnext?"
A lot of those may be just rumors, but given her current situation, the "getting fired" one was probably right on the money.
And now, according to Classicalite, Barney is apologizing for some of her recent "Real Housewives" drama:
"I started the season at a very bad time in my life (something I have not spoken of publicly) and contemplated not returning to Season 9, now I wish I had taken a step back and dealt with my issues as needed."
"I know that this year was probably my worst year on RHOC and I apologize to my fans for letting them down."
