"Game of Thrones" fans will have to wait a longer time for the release of the sixth installment of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, "Winds of Winter." Rumors about the book being released next year have been circulating recently but UK publisher Jane Johnson finally put an end to all speculations by saying that a 2015 release is impossible.
In a Christian Times article written by Raianne Fe Hamor Aguhar, it was claimed that the book was already finished and ready for a next year release. When a fan on Twitter pointed the article out to Johnson, she replied: "Not a 2015 release.' No change there as far as I'm aware."
To support this, AirHerald.com points out to the latest public comments of Martin where he confesses about struggling in finishing his draft. The author of the hit HBO series said, "I have days where I make lots of progress, I have days where I make next to no progress, I have days where I think I'm going backwards because I don't like what I wrote yesterday."
The 65-year old bestselling author further elaborates on Digital Spy (via BeautyWorldNews.com) that he is taking his time to finish his draft. "I've given up making any prediction on that. I'm just writing it and when it's done, it'll be done."
Other reports suggest, moreover, that part of the reason for the delay is Martin's health. Kdramastars reports that the author needs to keep his health up which has been suffering lately because of the stress that comes with writing "Winds of Winter."
Additionally, an interview with the author revealed that Martin will be sitting out the fifth season of Game of Thrones to finish the novel. In other news, fans can at least fill their need for the series with the release of "WORLD of Ice and Fire", an illustrated history of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, which will hit the shelves on October 26.
