'The Last: Naruto the Movie' will be hitting the big screens this December 6. Many are wondering what shall be returning on the highly anticipated manga film. Warning, spoilers are ahead!
On the confirmation made by Masashi Kishimoto about the tenth overall Naruto film, and seventh of the Shippuden movie series, he clarified that this would be the last film for the highly anticipated anime. "The battle of Naruto and his comrades is in its final phase, in the truest sense of the term," he begins.
Furthermore, he declared what may arise on the said film. "About the Ten Tails, about Madara, and then, about Sasuke... I will continue to raise the tension without restraint, in every way I can! Please follow this story of a boy named Naruto a little while longer, I will greatly appreciate it," he divulges.
Basing on the previous Naruto events, the Fourth Shinobi War resulted into the downfall of the Akatsuki clan and the sealing of the Ten-Tails (also known as Jubi), a beast that have threatened the world for its immense power that could put everything into a complete havoc. The ushering of the Ten-Tails was primarily the focus of the legendary Uchiha Madara, a beholder of the "Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan" and "Rinnegan".
However, many people are in question if Madara would appear on the said film, considering from Kishimoto's statement. Fans have believed that Madara already died and manga readers could tell that during the Third Shinobi War, he disconnected himself from the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. He previously enlightened Obito from the milieus of Ten-Tails and Sage of the Six Paths, and on his final hours, Madara consigned his name to Obito and turned over Tsuki no Me Keikaku (Eye of the Moon Plan).
Consequently, on Chapter 690, Madara's body rose, which eventually brought to the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and was sealed on to Kaguya Otsutsuki's core dimensions.
Meanwhile, on the character sketches posted by Crunchyroll, the well known ninjas Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru, Sai, Tenten, Temari, Gaara, Lee and Choji were already fully grown - whereas they may be seen wearing new outfits.
Is it safe to say that the milieu of the Fourth Shinobi War could be brought back on the said film featuring Obito, Madara, Kaguya and the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path; thus, sending the story arc into the revolution of Sasuke that would result into the reformation of the Shinobi world? If so, the film would conclude Naruto's 700th chapter.
