Speculations abound that Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder's relationship may be headed to ruins following Reed's performance with ex-husband Paul McDonald on Thursday in NYC.
Reed and "American Idol" alum McDonald performed the song "Now that I Found You" at The Pink Party on Thursday in support for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Marisa Acocella Marchetto Foundation, and The Carey Foundation.
It wasn't the performance itself that drew the attention of tabloids, though. According to Latin Post, after the performance at Bloomingdale's was finished, Reed and McDonald remained standing close to one another and even posed for photos together. KpopStarz recalls that Reed and McDonald divorced after being married for two and a half years. Their relationship ended in May, but because of singing and working the two has remained friends.
However, this does not mean Somerhalder is okay with it.
Reed was first reported dating Somerhalder around July. The "Vampire Diaries" star may be getting jealous, shares Star tabloid. A source said the actor is "having a hard time trusting that nothing romantic is going on." Apparently, Somerhalder's jealousy is causing him to sport a clingy attitude towards Reed. In response to this, Reed allegedly wants to take things slow with the actor.
This is only one rumor surrounding the couple, with RumorFix having a different say. According to the article, there is no problem with Reed and Somerhalder's relationship. "A pal of the two tells us the story is 'completely not true' and that Ian and Nikki 'are solid,'" says the article. Moreover, Gossip Cop confirms that a source exclusively told them that the story is fake.
Aside from Somerhalder allegedly having a falling out with Reed, the actor is also supposedly not in speaking terms anymore with "Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev. IB Times says that Dobrev is uncomfortable with Somerhalder taking Reed to the set of "Vampire Diaries" and the tension between her and Somerhalder may cause the show to end.
