A 31-second video shows a drive-in scene in Google’s homepage today: Cars come into a drive-in and stay to watch a movie, with popcorn served with a Google logo.
Looking back to its history, the first drive-in opened in New Jersey on June 6, 1933. When drive-ins were very popular in 1950’s and 1960’s, there were 4000 drive-ins across U.S. But now the number declined to 336 because of video rental market and film availability from TV and Internet.
