New "Final Fantasy 15" Details Include Upgraded Controls, 14 Characters and a 2015 Release Date

By

"Final Fantasy 15" has been in development for practicaly ten years.

Seriously. The game was first announced in 2006, and it's not set to release until next year, so... yep, ten years.

Luckily, at least the game has a solid release date in sight- thanks to KpopStarz, we know a little bit more about when the game might be releasing. They're claiming the game is set for a 2015 release date, wth a demo coming in March of 2015. As for the platforms, KpopStarz lists the game as coming to Playstation 4, Xbox One and "possibly PC," which is about in line with what we know so far.

Although it's worth noting that Moviepilot insists that a PC option is less than likely, so that bit may turn out to be nothing more than a rumor.

However, a release date isn't the only news coming out about the latest "Final Fantasy" game. Ecumenical News also has a substantial amount out about the gameplay- which, according to their sources, will feature three major changes to the combat system.

Those changes are: a "basic assualt button," a "skill button" that's tied to the characters' weapons, and a "jump button."

A jump button! Which, as you may know, is a novelty in the world of "Final Fantasy."

They've also got a quote on the game's characters, from "Final Fantasy 15" director Hajime Tabata:

"Ultimately, you'll be able to control 14 characters that will be listed on the screen and you can choose which ones to send out into the battlefield. In comparison to the traditional FF games, magic plays a very direct role in the combat itself. If you see the sight markers that are popping up here and there, if you time the attacks well, you will attack with a critical hit or inflict massive damage."
