On Monday, South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun of the hit drama "You Who came From the Stars" was chosen as one of the 10 finalists for the Style Icon Awards (SIA).
The Hallyu star will be joined by other nominees including actor Jo In Sung, actress Kim Hee Ae, as well as female idol group 4Minute, Girls' Generation sub-unit TaeTiSeo, and SISTAR member Soyou.
SIA 2014 award organization CJ E&M revealed the awardees ahead of the award ceremony, which will be held later today at 7-11 pm (KST) at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Seoul, with the theme "Seoulite, light, night" Kpop Herald reports.
The 10 artists who made it to the prestigious list of SIA awardees were chosen from 50 people who were nominated based on their professional evaluations, public research, and online global vote.
Singer Jung Joon Young and model Jang Yoon Joo will be the host of the event. Actress Clara, will meanwhile be the emcee for the red carpet before the awarding ceremony.
The grand recipient of the Style Icon of the Year award will be revealed at the last part of the event.
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that 2NE1's resident fashionista CL will be performing at the event.
Mnet revealed on October 27 other artists to be part of the event's performance lineup. This includes nominees Girl's Generation's sub-unit TaeTiSeo, 4Minute, and SISTAR's Soyou.
CL will perform with American electronic dance musician and producer Diplo. The world renowned DJ had previously worked with Big Bang's sub-unit G-D&TOP (G-Dragon and T.O.P) for their hit song "Knock Out," as well as on G-Dragon's "Coup d'Etat."
Big Bang's leader and resident fashion icon G-Dragon was the recipient of the highest award in last year's SIA. This year, he only placed second with Kim Soo Hyun on the votes.
KpopStars noted that actors received better votes that idols this year. "Fated to Love You" actor Jang Hyuk came in third spot of the vote, while actress Jung Ryeo Won and actor Lee Seo Jin also rounded out the top ten.
The Style Icon Awards are given to people who influence and lead the K-culture using the unique and fashionable style. The awarding ceremony will be aired live on different channels such as Onstyle, tvN and Mnet, as well as streamed through Mnet America, Mnet Japan, Channel M, Youku and Tudou.
