GD&TOP speculated to have a comeback; Are the two idols returning as a unit or solo artists as part of YG’s upcoming hip hop projects?

Korean media outlets are speculating that Big Bang's sub-unit GD&TOP may be having a comeback. This was after record label YG Entertainment's newest "Who's Next?" teaser, which revealed that the label will be launching two hip hop projects.

Based on statements from representatives in the Korean music industry, this could involve the comeback of GD&TOP, allkpop reports. The duo is composed of Big Bang members G-Dragon and TOP. According to the report, industry reps claimed on November 14 that the YG Entertainment artists are gearing up for a new album.

G-Dragon and TOP might be very well having a comeback, noted by the same report, as it was previously revealed that the two recently set a schedule for a filming of KBS 2TV's "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook."

If the speculations are true, the comeback will mark the two Big Bang members' first comeback as duo in four years.

However, a music distributor recently suggested that the new album could be of a solo of G-Dragon or Top, with the other as a featured artist. "I cannot confirm the singers' album release schedule beforehand without the consent of their agency," said the music distributor. "There is a large possibility it could be a person's solo album rather than a unit with two people, G-Dragon and T.O.P. I think the other person is a supporter."

Other fans are speculating that it could be a team-up between G-Dragon and another Big Bang member Taeyang, as the two were reportedly spotted in California filming what seems like a music video.

Meanwhile, Taeyang took home the "Song of the Year" award in the recently concluded "MelOn Music Awards 2014" for his phenomenal song, "Eyes, Nose, Lips."

According to Soompi, Taeyang's stage during the awards ceremony garnered the highest ratings.

TNmS, a ratings company, reported that during Taeyang's stage performance, the ratings peaked at 2.6%. This makes the idol's stage the night's most viewed performance for the night. Among the show's target demographic, who are women in their teens to thirties, the ratings hit 3.43%.
