Just weeks after Camila Cabello confirmed that she was dating Austin Mahone, the member of "Fifth Harmony" revealed that "Camaustin" is over.
According to Billboard, Cabello revealed that the relationship has ended when she was a guest on Pittsburgh's KISS 96.1 on Monday. The site noted that Cabello didn't seem all too heartbroken over the breakup, saying, "Hey, things happen." Cabello refused to give further details on how or why the breakup happened, but she said that they had only split recently.
Popcrush noted that despite the quick end to their budding romance, Cabello "didn't say anything negative about Austin." Instead, the singer talked about upcoming projects such as performing for Michelle Obama. Cabello also said that she needs "some mistletoe action" after the breakup.
Only three weeks ago, Cabello spoke on "Watch What Happens Live" to confirm that she was dating Mahone, Billboard shares. According to E! Online, Cabello's confirmation came as a response to host Andy Cohen's question of which member of the group was dating Mahone. "That would be me... He's a really good guy," Cabello responded.
Cabello further detailed that she had known Mahone for a year and a half after being on X-Factor. Hollywood Life's source says that Cabello pursued Mahone and that Mahone started liking her back shortly after. "She wanted him and got him," the source detailed.
Once the two had confirmed their dating status, Hollywood Life revealed some details of their romantic relationship. "Austin, 18, and Camila, 17, go on low-key dates and just enjoy each other's company," the article shared, citing an exclusive source. The source also said that Cabello and Mahone "like being online and shopping and just hanging out with each other."
The two are also apparently fond of eating and performing music together.
The source talked about Mahone being romantic: "He's naturally romantic and does things like sing to her. He is very cute around her and a gentleman."
The relationship of Cabello and Mahone had been met with varying reactions from fans, and the same goes for news about their breakup. According to Billboard, "The Twitter hashtag #CamaustinIsOver began trending, receiving both happy and sad responses to the news."
