FX has all the reasons for an extended celebration for the humungous success of the all-time hit crime drama 'Sons of Anarchy.' Nielsen's live-plus-3 ratings reported that the series delivered 9.26 million viewers for its December 9 finale within three days of premiere airing.

With that L3 rating the two-hour seg amounts to the most-watched installment of the series' 92-episode run, and it's highest-rated in all three key demos: adults 18-34 (2.89 million), adults 18-49 (6 million) and adults 25-54 (6.29 million), Variety wrote.

E! also reported that 'Papa's Goods' was the most-watched of the FX biker drama of the entire series and this is the detailed category of viewer types: women 18-49, adults and men 18-34, and adults, men and women 25-54.

The seventh swan song according to FX is the most-watched season of any series in the cabler's 20-year history. Thus, 'SOA' was able to outrank itself as FX-record holder for the most watched season, E! reported.

Talking about the viewers of the series, five million adults age 18-49 watch 'Sons of Anarchy' which means that it has a very high concentration of younger viewers for its total 7.54 million viewers-this is 200 percent higher as compared to its viewers in its 2008 launch

Hollywood Reporter: "It's a rare and remarkable accomplishment for a television show to generate its - and our channel's - highest ratings in its final season," said John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Prods. "We thank (creator) Kurt Sutter and his team for an epic ride."

Viewers also are generous in their praise for the show. TVGuide documented this comment from a viewer about his impression on the series' ending:

"I wanted to register my impression that the 'Sons of Anarchy' finale was a nearly perfect way to end this long saga. I feel that finally the Jax Teller of Season 1 and the Jax Teller of Season 7 have been reconciled. The climactic ending was, in effect, what Season 1 Jax would want to do to when he realized what Season 7 Jax had become..."
