Eminem is no stranger to controversy. The 'Rap God' artist has been making waves in social media as of late from rapping about raping Iggy Azalea to being compared to Tupac Shakur by KXNG Crooked. However, fans of the famous artist freaked out when Eminem 'admitted' to being gay in Sony's. 'The Interview'.
Sony had recently released the film in select theaters, as well as various online streaming devices. The controversial American political film, which was meant to take a stand at North Korea's terrorist-like threats. Seth Rogen and James Franco play Aaron Rapoport and Dave Skylark who both run a celebrity tabloid show called, "Skylark Tonight."
Eminem made a cameo in the film as himself. In the clip, Skylark (Franco) interviews the rapper and the artist makes a startling confession.
"When I say things about gay people, or people think that my lyrics are homophobic-it's because I'm gay," the rapper said.
"I don't necessarily rap about the things I hate, it's more about the things I fear," Eminem continues. "I like men."
While the 'confession' was scripted, the rapper brilliantly delivered his lines with such deadpan emotion that it was almost believable. It made it pretty easy to believe that Eminem is a self-loathing gay man.
Despite being ridden with controversies about being homophobic, Eminem has constantly said in interviews that he has "no problems with people being gay." In fact, he has also spoke in favor of gay marriage.
"I poke fun at other people, myself. But the real me sitting here right now talking to you has no issues with gay, straight, transgender, at all." the rapper said in an interview with Rolling Stone.
