It was earlier speculated that the TV series would end with Jane leaving behind his FBI duties for good. However, TV Line has revealed that Jane will be solving crime mysteries until the end of the series.
According to TV Line, Lisbon and Jane will be facing a murderer who goes by the name of Lazarus at the end of the series. According to the TV site, the said villain is working under the guise of an exterminator and has psychopatic tendencies.
In the January 7 episode of "The Mentalist" entitled "Green Light", fans would be delighted to know that they are in for a special treat in the show's return episode. According to TV Fanatic, Patrick Jane will be celebrating his birthday with Teresa Lisbon. By the looks of the promotional photos, it looks like the two are having a wonderful time. One photo even shows the two locking lips. This would certainly delight fans after seeing the two slowly take their new relationship to another level, Abbott will also find himself to be caught in a messy situation that will force him to keep quiet and weigh decisions on what is most important to him.
Meanwhile, The Mentalist is doing well in terms of viewership, The series saw a 1 million rise in adult viewers based on the December 28, 2014 data.
