'Once Upon a Time' co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have assured fans of the hit TV show that the second half of season four is nothing short of exciting. The duo has revealed that the second half of the season would be full of surprises, including new villains, developing romances, reunions, plus will an old ally be making a comeback?
In the midseason finale, many fans of the show's couples were rather crushed by seemingly unhappy endings of their favaorite couples. But Kitsis and Horowitz have assured fans that happier times are ahead.
According to TV Line, Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle) and Belle (Emilie de Ravin) will be getting back together again. "Rumple let us know in Season 1 that he's a difficult man to love. And he's let us know that he always chooses power over love, that is his fault. But he began the season with honorable intentions - he really was going to give Belle the knife - but when he saw the [Sorcerer's] hat, that made him realize, 'I did the noble thing and it ended up with my son dying and me being a slave. So if I can never have to wake up and worry about someone getting my dagger, why can't I have everything?' And as he learned, you can't." show creator Kitsis said in the interview.
Horowitz further answered that, "Rumple and Belle] have been through a lot together, and despite how it may have felt in the midseason finale, their story is not over."
Fans of the 'Captain Swan' pairing would be in for a treat as Kitsis and Horowitz have graciously teased the couple's developing romance. In the midseason finale, Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) had his heart ripped out from his chest leaving his lady love Emma (Jennifer Morrison) devastated. "As far as Captain Swan shippers are concerned I would say that the relationship between Emma and Hook is something we've been developing for a while and we're going to continue to develop it." Horowitz said.
Another familiar face might be making a comeback in future episodes as Jamie Dornan has expressed his opinions on wanting to return to the show. The actor who will play Christian Grey in the upcoming 'Fifty Shades of Grey' film played Sheriff Graham in season one of the show. His character's life ended when he was killed by Regina (Lana Parilla).
"I love those guys, Adam and Eddy, they're like family to me," Dornan said. "I was actually filming something on the same lot as them just before Christmas. But I don't know, [Graham] is kind of dead!"
The show's creators have also expressed their opinions in wanting to bring back Dornan for the season three arc but weren't able to do so because of timing.
Last year, when he did 'Welcome to Storybrooke' for us, it was fantastic to have him come back," said Kitsis. "He's a friend of ours, he's a friend of the show and unfortunately, this year, he goes right from the movie to The Fall, so there was no-because they were shooting [Fifty Shades] in Vancouver, we were hoping to..."
"And it's funny...his part was always conceived as that seven-episode arc in the first season...with the hope we could bring him back here and there as we've done," Horowitz said. "But...it's gratifying that everyone seems to have responded so well to his talent."
