Boston Marathon Bombing – Second Phase of Jury Selection Begins this Week

By

In April 2013, a supposedly fun marathon in Boston, became a tragedy to a lot of people. Near the finish line, 2 bombs exploded, killing 3 and hurting more than 250 people. The suspects for this attack were Dzhokhar and Tamerian Tsarnaev, Chechen brothers. Tamerian , the older brother, was killed in 18 April, during a shootout shortly after the Federal Bureau of Investigation proclaimed them as suspects. Dzhokhar, on the other hand, was found hiding in a boat. He pleaded not guilty on the charges filed against him. It is considered a high - profile case and many people are following its development.

The second phase of jury selection is about to take place. According to Nola, the possible jurors will be questioned this Thursday by the judge, Tsarnaev's attorneys and the prosecutors as well. They will be asked about their opinions on death penalty, on Tsarnaev's case and also their background. The screening will be very strict to ensure that there will be no conflicts with regard to this sensitive case.

While there are millions of people who would like Tsarnaev to be convicted, there are groups that support him and believe that he is innocent. One of these groups is the 'Free Jahar movement'. Tsarnaev's female supporters were said to be fan girls. However, source says that they support Tsarnaev as they believe the US government was responsible for the marathon bombings. Some say that Tsarnaev was violated and that is their reason for supporting the Boston Marathon bombing suspect.

Whatever their stand may be, justice must be served. Hence, it is important that the selection of Jury for the Boston Marathon Bombing will be taken seriously. If there are ways to ensure fair and square decision, so be it. Justice must be given, most especially to those who were killed.
