Woman suspect on Brett Wiese's murder found as guilty; Mitchell Harkes to face trial as justice awaits for sentencing

A young woman was found guilty in the murder of Brett Wiese, a 20 - year - old University of Calgary student. The woman's name cannot be disclosed as she was only 17 when she was charged. This is in accordance to Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Wiese friends became very emotional on their statements during the sentencing hearing of his alleged killer. They said that Wiese is an innocent victim of an absurd attack. One of his friends made a strong statement by saying that it was not only his friend that was stolen from him, but also his faith in humanity. Two years ago, a supposedly fun Brentwood party became a horror - like one, when a group attacked the partygoers. According to CBC, the accused said that she was bumped off from the party. She left the party shouting at the top of her lungs. At the wee hours of the morning, an estimated of 10 people, together with the young girl, went back to the party and the argument started. There were other partygoers who got injured during the encounter.

We are used to hearing murder news, but having a teen killer is more alarming. Kids today are more radical, and getting more barbaric. The number of teen killers is increasing overtime. It is still a debatable topic if minors should be trialed similar to that of an adult.

The young woman is not the only one who will face the trial on Wiese's murder. Mitchell Harkes was also charged and the trial will commence soon. Harkes, was said to have stabbed Wiese multiple times, while the young woman stabbed him once in the back. According to Calgary Sun, the challenges with the schedules with his lawyer are one of the reasons why there was a delay in his trial.
