"Homeland" Season 5 Spoilers: Filming to set in the US? Haissam Haqqani might not return amid escaping from previous episodes

By

There's hefty Homeland season 5 spoilers circulating online time and again even only a month after the show's fourth season came to a close. Showtime Exec David Nevins, however, has revealed some of things that the fans can truly expect from the forthcoming season at the 2015 TCA Press tour Monday.

IBTimes reported that the villain, Haissam Haqqani (Numan Acar) may not return this season. According to Nevins, the fans shouldn't expect that he will be seen again after he managed the escape without a scratch in the previous season.

"We're not necessarily going to stay [with addressing] US relations in the Muslim world," he said. "The real franchise of the show is how difficult it is to be America in the world in the 21st century, how difficult the choices are."

Moreover, Nevins said that it's not known as of yet where the setting will be for Homeland season 5, although, it can be noted that Carrie was back home in the US in the finale of the fourth series. 'It could be in Africa, it could be in Europe, it could be another place in the Middle East. I don't expect to show to fall into a formula," Nevins said. "I can see it coming back to the US at some point."

On the other hand, showrunner Alex Gansa expressed his uncertainty as to how the storyline will go for the next season. "We have some options, and we're discussing them, but we probably won't make any decision until March," he said.

Gansa also touched on the fact that not landing an Emmy nomination affected them, though he said, "But you can never predict how people are going to respond to something...It's not something you can plan for."

Homeland season 5 will begin filming this May and will reportedly premiere sometime between September and October just like the past seasons. .
