"The Flash" Spoilers: Stars Talk Time Travel, Promise "It Is Going to Be Wild"; Dr. Wells Becomes Reverse-Flash

By

"The Flash" has hinted at time travel from its very first episode (remember? When Dr. Wells, played by Tom Cavanaugh, stepped into his secret room and loaded up a newspaper from the far future?). But up until now, most talk of "The Flash" and time travel has been pretty vague at best.

It's not so vague anymore. Thanks to the show's mid-season finale, which revealed that Wells is, in fact, the Reverse-Flash, both Cavanaugh and "The Flash" star Grant Gustin have now been speaking openly about what their characters are involved with, time-travel wise.

Both actors spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, speaking in depth about "The Flash" and time travel.

Says Gustin: "We are diving deep into the time-travel element and it is going to be wild."

Now, Cavanaugh: "It's ultimately why I signed on to this job. Not to play a scientist, but to play a time-traveling bandit."

"In comic books, when you start talking about time travel - if anybody has followed The Flash, then they know Reverse-Flash and The Flash are not just doing this right now in the present day. They have a long history and there's nothing that we're not going to pursue when we try to tell the story. We're trying to tell all of it."

According to Gustin, however, this storyline might extend past the first season. "I think it would be fun if it totally changed the show for season two,"he hopes.

Inquisitr also adds that a future episode of "The Flash"- the 18th episode, to be specific- will find Felicity and Ray Palmer of "Arrow" venturing into Central City for an hour with Barry Allen.

"Arrow" producer Andrew Kreisberg spoke about this episode with Variety, as well.

"Ray Palmer is all about technology and STAR Labs is all about technology. We get to see Ray so happy to be in STAR Labs... With Cisco [Carlos Valdes] and Ray, they're new best friends. The STAR Labs team is going to help Ray further his ATOM project."

There's a lot in store for "The Flash"- and luckily, it's doing extremely well in the ratings, so all the insanity that The CW has in store for Barry Allen will have plenty of time to be realized onscreen.
