‘Ant-Man’ Update, Spoilers, Cast News: Paul Rudd takes a beating from Evangeline Lilly; Director reveals unique quality of the film

"Ant-Man" is the latest superhero from Marvel to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While he isn't as popular as Spider-Man and the members of the Avengers, this tiny superhero can pack a punch and he is a complete bad ass in the comic book.

The film rendition of "Ant-Man" is directed by Peyton Reed who reveals that the film has a "unique" tone, adding that "It has drama, it has comedy, it had a hero with a shitty van and a cut under his eye." Which is all true if viewers are to compare "Ant-Man" with the genius-billionaire-playboy Tony Stark or the science geek-friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Scott Lang, the person who would be the superhero "Ant-Man", is a complete nobody, in fact he is an ex-criminal in the who wishes to have a new life with his daughter. He only became the superhero Ant-Man after Dr. Hank Pym, who will be portrayed by Michael Douglas in the film, recruited him and introduced the "Ant-Man" suit.

Since Scott Lang is not endowed with natural superpowers or unlimited resources or high intellect, he has to work himself out. That is why Paul Rudd, who portrays Ant-Man, got a good beating at the Pymnasium according to a recent report. According to the actor, his character and Hope Van Dyne, who will be played by Evangeline Lilly, will train hard at the basement gym of Dr. Hank Pym.

Among the notable stars that were included in the "Ant-Man" cast were Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Judy Greer, Corey Stoll, Michael Peña, Bobby Cannavale, Tip "T.I" Harris, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, Jordi Mollà and Michael Douglas. The principal location for the film was on San Francisco while some shoots were made in Pinewood Atlanta Studios, Fayette County.

There were a lot of use of motion-capture and macro photography in the set since it has a lot of scenes were characters are shrinking and going back to normal size. Special cameras and lenses were also used which display the skills of its director.

"Ant-Man" movie is scheduled for premiere on July 17. Even though he is just a nobody, Marvel fans will appreciate that Ant-Man made it to the Big Screen.
