From refrigerators to cameras up to MRI scanners, Samsung has newly granted design patents from US Patents and Trademark Office. This time they might have a new and improved patent for the successor of the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.
Samsung has been known for its nature-inspired design especially on previously launched phones, but it will soon change after reports about a new design patent. The design will reportedly be incorporated in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S Edge. Unlike the Note Edge, the S Edge has a dual curve display design.
According the Patently Mobile, the rounded edges of the new designed Samsung phone is said to accommodate popular applications people use including the function icons such as the camera, settings and emails are there. Also there is an unknown pop-up feature on the phone, but its functionality has yet to be revealed.
Android Authority took a few guesses saying there may be a pop up feature bearing the battery of the phone or even a camera module that will enhance the its' image quality.
A report by SamMobile also claimed that Samsung is apparently currently testing multiple types of their already existing models including 3 variants of the Galaxy S6: one with a normal display, another with a one-sided curve display and the dual-sided curve display, which has been rumored to be the granted patent design.
With speculations coming out, Samsung is still quiet about the said model. Patents may be coming out from different sources but it is still not sure if these rumored designs would really go out in the market. Since Samsung reporting ongoing profit loss to their major competitor, Apple, they must create a diversion to boost their sales in the market. But with the patent designs leaking out, consumers will be surely keeping their eyes open for Samsung's next move.
