Dornan, 32, who played the role of Christian Grey, revealed in an interview with the Time published Monday, January 2, that the hardest scenes to shoot were not what people suspected.
"Anyone will tell you that sex scenes, regardless of the content of the film, are always a tricky experience and relatively uncomfortable," Dornan told the magazine. "But I guess the scene that had for me personally the most pressure on it, was the interview scene."
For Johnson, who played the role of Anastasia Steele, however, the hardest part was one of the raunchiest scenes where Grey flogged her while she was blindfolded with her hands and legs tied.
Johnson even mused that "filming a sex scene or pleasurable environment is hot not in a steamy or sexual way" and it was sweaty and uncomfortable.
Fifty Shades of Grey released more exclusives on the Today show, in addition to the already released scene and even a never-before-seen photo.
A blurred out picture was posted on the movie's Facebook page, but the Today show page revealed an unblurred version after it had received a certain amount of likes! The picture showed Anastasia and (shirtless) Christian sitting in bed with him stroking her face.
It features Hunky CEO Christian Grey and doll-eyed Anastasia Steele in a hardware store where she works, asking him what she can help him with.
Grey asked her of cable ties, masking tape and rope. As Steele handed him the tape, their hands briefly touched in a palpable moment of tension. The entire exchange is rather awkward and tame compared to the film's Super Bowl spot released Sunday, February 1, during the big game.
The 41-second trailer contained most of the same footage from previous clips, but this one revealed what happened after Grey and Steele's sexy elevator kiss. Four men in suits stare at the couple suspiciously following their steamy makeout.
Dornan and Johnson also shared a thing or two about the Red Room of pain. As anyone who read book version knows, the Red Room is where sexual acts involving both bondage and submission took place.
In its book adaptation, Steele is painfully awkward throughout the beginning stages of their relationship before letting loose, and the teaser trailer that aired during the Super Bowl gave audiences a taste of her goofiness.
One scene included in the teaser showed Christian showing her his "play room" where she naively asks, "like where you keep your X-box and stuff?"
It was Johnson who divulged something about the Red Room first that the scenes there were "definitely the most vulnerable in the movie." She stressed, however, that it was a very closed set revealing that her mom, Melanie Griffith, advised it is her right to request for that during intimate scenes, so it seemed like only Dornan, Director Sam Taylor-Johnson were in this little world together.
Jamie Dornan had no problem admitting that shooting the Red Room scenes made him uncomfortable because "there were times when Dakota was not wearing too much" and he had to say things to her that he said he would never do to a woman.
Fifty Shades of Grey is a film adaptation of E.L. James' hit novel released in 2011 coming in theaters on February 15, 2015 under Universal Pictures.
