Prior to Super Bowl's kick off tournament this year, Kim Kardashian's newest commercial for T-Mobile has been anticipated yet, the table turned the other way around as the "selfie commercial" gained negative criticisms from the viewers.
Upon its premiere telecast aired on February 1 during the Super Bowl, viewers bashed the the ad ""How to take the perfect selfie", describing it as harsh.
Accordiing to Mail Online, the audience has been quiet in the first few seconds of the ad, internalizing it's message but various comments flew over after it was shown. Compared to the other commercials at the said event which receives applause from the crowd, T-Mobile's was "booed". One of the audience even pointed at Kardashian's butt and called it fake.
In a report by International Business Times, Twitter users stated that the phone company was just wasting money on Kardashan's commercial and describe it as a "fail".
"I lost seconds of my life" from Kim Kardashian's T-Mobile ad."Twitter user named Rachel Federoff said.
Another Twitter user named Destin Pfaff even wrote the hashtag "stopkim" on his tweet.
In the said commercial, the reality star talks about the company's problem of stolen data, which reportedly transpired by other carriers. It followed by a scene where she teaches viewers to take perfect selfies by pouting, putting on make-up and lifting her arms while holding a phone. In the same commercial, she also teaches viewers how to take 300 photos of one's perfect face angle.
Though she received criticisms, Kim posted an Instagram update, saying she was happily celebrating her ad. Mail Online also reported the reality star posting a picture in Instagram, wearing a nude dress. She also posted another update on the social media saying 'Who just saw my TMobile commercial!!!! So exciting!!!'
Since it was uploaded on YouTube, the commercial has gained 14 thousand views.
Despite all the negative feedback, The Verge believed that the phone company have chosen random Twitter users as recipients of Kardashian's selfie ad, making them special.
