The new update of the Android 5.0.1 is said to have only a minor upgrade, they taking importance of the bug fixes and the performance inconsistencies that users have been tormenting about like the lag issues and the fast download of apps. According to Android Authority, the new update is not a "must have" for users.
Nexus 4 users will be receiving an update notification for an installation upgrade to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, just pull on the notification panel once received and tap on download. Given that android users have not yet received the notification, they can force check for the latest software based on the report on Technos Amigos.
The bug fix update of the Android 5.0.1 upgrade is a bug fix update that aimed to target all the remaining Android 5.0 Lollipop problems. It will enhance battery life, WiFi issues and Bluetooth problems that are the most worries of the users.
Adnroid 5.0.1 was initially released for the Nexus 7 2013, Nexus 9 and Nexus 10 but since the owners of the Nexus 4 were vocal about some issues plaguing the software they all started to plead for the Android 5.0.1 update on their devices.
Gotta be Mobile also advised the Nexus 4 users to not force the update using a trick on Google Framework Services for it might create unnecessary problems for the device. There is still no further notice though if Google will be having an Android 5.0.2 update for the line, but for now Android 5.0.1 is still the latest version users can upgrade to.
