Fall Out Boy's new album "American Beauty/American Psycho" wins weekly chart with 192,000 sales and is 2015's second best.
The FOB's win even beated Taylor Swift's 1989 with only around 119K sales and Meghan Trainor's Title with only 86K total sales. Headline Planet cited that the said band had the strongest weekly sales which had its debut on the top spot in the sales charts.
From the first week of release from their new album, there were around 100,000 copies already secured from its pre-order album phase with its approximate 204, 063 released copies.
Thus, it is considered as the #1 album on the revamped Billboard 200 which is represented from its total consumption. As described by the same site source, the album has ten tracks with around 1,500 streaming per album. That means, that the "American Beauty/American Psycho" has reached roughly 227, 348 total consumptions based from per album estimates.
Comparing to Taylor Swifts' 1989 with only 81,471 pure sales and 116, 891 total consumption units and Meghan Trainor's Title with 53, 326 pure sales and 85, 619 total consumption units. Therefore, these two albums were only in the #2 and #3 spots respectively.
The album, which was released around New Year, was considered one of the big steps in the 2015 albums. This newly released album of the FOB, contained all different genres as the group decided to save all multitudes of genres with their second album (and the sixth for overall released albums) since their last album "Save Rock and Roll" last 2013.
U Interview also cited the title of the band's album was inspired from the 1970 Grateful Dead album as well the 1991 Bret Easton Ellis novel. FOB's Patrick Stump said, "There are some nods to a lot of cultures ... and the only thing we wanted to try differently on this record was just I wanted if you skip around at any point in the songs you know which record you are listening to."
The same site also described their first song, "Irresistible" that it contains some horns and synths which can really make the music stand out like those played in a sound system of any sporting event. Later, the song can pump listeners to the next song "American Beauty/American Psycho" which is an immediate reminiscient of some of their "emo punk" tracks way back the eras of "Sugar We're Going Down" and "Dance Dance."
The album also contained some fun tracks like the "Centuries" and "Uma Thurman" which the former sounds like a modern Fall Out Boy pop-punk sound and the latter with referencing to a famous actress and sounds like one of her famous diner dance scene in "Pulp Fiction" with John Travolta.
"Fourth of July" and "Twin Skeletons" made the album really truly great since these two tracks can lead any listeners to climax because of its high energy level sound with such inspirations from the Pop, Electronic, Dubstep, as well as Bollywood. These two tracks surprised any listeners from their seat.
Generally, the "American Beauty/American Psycho" album of the Fall Out Boy deserved such winning due its surprising and great tracks contained. The band has reached same success despite its hiatus between 2009-2013.
