Android One devices now officially runs the latest version of Android 5.1 Lollipop in Indonesia, following Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
According to a report posted by 9to5, the latest specs of Android 5.1 Lollipop includes better Bluetooth and WIFI connectivity and smooth scrolling experience, which aren't feasible in the older version. Android One's material design also offers edge-to-edge graphics while it only takes two quick swipes to turn off data and check data usage.
The Verge also reported that new changes will be seen in the update including RAM management and silent mode restoration, which was not feasible in Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
Before Google's announcement, Nexus tablets and smartphones have been using Android 5.0.2 as it's operating system.
Meanwhile, Google phone users who are using Android 5,0 Lollipop often complained about the missing silent mode feature. According to Business Insider, the missing feature was to the absence of some functionality that most consumers expected to have. However, with the newest update of Lollipop, the feature has been reintroduce.
As for those who did not know, Android One offers quick settings that conserves data, a battery saver that extends it's life up to 90 minutes and more says Google Android One website. Android phones are currently marketed in Indonesia, following Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Indonesia is also one of the first countries to take Youtube videos offline, watching them later when there's low internet connection.
Google Indonesia also reveals it's plans to offer affordable data costs in their Indonesia market, NDTV reported.
The launching of Andoid One devices in Indonesia has been pushed through a partnership with Nexian, Mito and Evercoss.
Google extended their excitement and happiness upon the newest milestone in the company, saying that the launching is another step to give high quality and affordable smartphones to the consumers.
