After rumored problems with their engagement, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are officially made husband and wife in a private ceremony held in their Los Angeles home on Tuesday, February 3.
The 51-year-old actor and his 28-year-old wife are now officially married according to a report by People. Depp and Heard tied the knot in Los Angeles on Tuesday after being engaged on December 2012. However, a "bigger ceremony" is expected to take place at Depp's private island in the Bahamas on the weekend.
For the Bahamas event to be held at Depp's Little Hall's Pond Cay, only 50 people will be invited, adds Page Six. Heard will reportedly wear a Stella McCartney wedding dress.
Hollywood Life adds that the guest list of 50 already includes Depp's two children with former partner Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose, and Jack. Guests will be invited to Depp's 156-foot yacht.
Before getting married, the couple has been met with several rumors saying that the engagement has been broken and that the wedding has been postponed. However, a source talking to E! says the opposite and reveals that Depp couldn't wait to marry Heard, who he is "completely in love" with.
Talks about the couple having troubles were also silenced by the two showing some PDA at the Art of Elysium's Annual Heaven Gala at the Golden Globes weekend held in Los Angeles.
The couple met at the set of "The Rum Diary" where their characters get married "after a whirlwind romance."
The civil wedding has been scheduled for this month to fit in the couple's busy schedule, Daily Mail shares. Heard will be filming in London while Depp will head to Australia for the filming of the next "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie.
The island where Depp and Heard will be celebrating their wedding over the weekends is "a 45-acre tropical paradise" Depp purchased in 2004. Talking to Vanity Fair, Depp says, "I don't think I'd ever seen any place so pure and beautiful." Depp also talks about the island as giving him "instant freedom."
