After months of waiting, the rumors are finally coming to life. Sony's PS4 has been constantly being pitted against Microsoft's Xbox One eversince its release but the Sony's PS4 specifications remain to surpass that of the Xbox One. A confirmation of the release of a slimmer PS4 is yet to be announced. But as a set of leaked images of what the PS4 Slim will look like, fans can definitely confirm that a new lighter and better version of the PS4 is about to be released.
The new version of the PS4 is definitely a slimmer one than the predecessor and even slimmer than that of the Xbox one. Mutiplayer.it shared new images of the said PS4 slim that looks more compact, sleek and with a streamline design and buttons relocated.
Rumors also has it the this latest game console will grace the Elecronic Entertainment Expo or E3, scheduled to be held this June 16 to June 18, 2015 in Los Angeles California. The E3 is a gathering of the latest technology, gadgets, software and games all over the world. The event is indeed a perfect venue for the release of the game console, but with a leak that the PS4 Slim will be due by August, how can it be possibly launched in the E3?
On the other hand, Pocket Lint thinks that it is unlikely for a slimmer version of the PS4 to happen. The leaked photos were screenshots of a MacBook displaying a rendered image of the supposedly "PS4 Slim" which is quite smaller making them rather skeptical. According to them, "The current PS4 is much slimmer that the Xbox One, gets very hot f contained within an AV cabinet as it is." "Anything smaller than that (the existing PS4) would seriously run the risk of overheating so badly it would cease to function."
Pocket Lint also believes that Sony would never discard a device that is very much well received and embraced by the public. This according to the website will devaluate the concept of this premium machine.
The possibilities of a slimmer PS4 seems to be impossible but possible at some ways. Confusing isn't it? There may be issues when it comes to overheating when a slimmer version of the PS4 is pushed through but the fact remains that the PS4 will definitely be overturned and replaced by an even better Sony device. It may not happen at present but it will eventually do as Sony tries to keep at par with its high standards when it comes to gadgets and game consoles.
