While the biggest names in the smartphone industry continues to heat up the market with their latest gadgets all over the world, HTC stands firm in the competition as the company unveiled the Android Lollipop update of HTC One M8.
The tech company posted the announcement on their official Twitter account, bringing joy to Rogers and Telus users who have been waiting for the said update for a while.
HTC One M8 Android 5.0 Lollipop update will take place vis Over-The-Air (OTA) update. When the Lollipop update arrives, M8 users will receive a system update notification. Then users can tap the "Download Now" option in the screen if they wanted to install it right away. Once the installation is completed, the phone will reboot and flash the new firmware. Because of the update, users must note that the file size will exceed to 600 MB.
According to Zeniagazette, updates can also be checked manually by going to the Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now. The said publication also recommends to download the update using a WiFi network to avoid possible data charges.
Prior to the big news, the update had been rolling in the US to GottaBeMobile, the 5.0 Lollipop update started last month, kicking off US consumers, who wanted to have a better user experience with Google's latest Operating System.
On the other hand, M8 users from other countries will have to wait for Android 5.0 Lollipop's arrival as the company rolls out the said uodate from one country to another.
When Lollipop took everyone's attention in 2014, HTC promised to update their devices using the latest operating system. This year, the phone company fulfilled the consumers' anticipation, though the update for other US regions will take some time. Google also announced the arrival of the latest version of Android 5.0 Lollipop in Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 before HTC's.
