Kim Kardashian will not be the only one to have a game inspired by her because now International Popstar, Katy Perry, is partnering with Glu Mobile Inc. to develop a new mobile game that will include her voice and likeness.
After her smashing performance during the halftime show at the Super Bowl, Katy Perry had another surprise for her fans. The company who made "Kim Kardashian:Hollywood" is reported to release Katy Perry's mobile game application towards the end of the year on iOS and android. Idigital Times reported that Glu Mobile will be introducing a new digital global success and talent inspired by the popstar.
According to Design&Trend, due to the success of the "Kim Kardashian:Hollywood", Glu Mobile decided to create another application. Choosing Katy Perry as a subject was also easy because of the "Roar" singer's social media following of 170 million.
Though the "Keeping Up With The Kardashian" star only has 78 million followers, her mobile game application was a mega hit. The game generated over $76.2 million in sales for the Glu bosses, and the application has been downloaded over 22.8 million times from a report statement last November according to Daily Mail.
The mobile company introduced "Kim Kardashian:Hollywood" as a free-to-play game. The game is about living famous, it includes luxurious mansions, papparazis and a Kim avatar that would help to earn sponsorship and clothes. This game also makes the gamers use 'real money' to purchase additional playing time and to buy virtual clothes for an avatar as what Business Insider reported. The strategy worked letting the game earn $1.6 million in the first five days in the market doubling the fourth-quarter sales of the mobile company.
Although the application made for Katy Perry has yet to be named, the same success is expected from the mobile application as the popstar's fame had sky-rocketed due to her unforgettable performance at Superbowl.
