Fifty Shades of Grey Author, E.L. James Fought with Director to Give This Ending

Seems like E.L James likes to be the 'dominant' rather than to be 'submissive' in filming the movie-adaptation of her book, Fifty Shades of Grey. It turns out that the author of the world-famous book fought and won over the film director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, in deciding the ending of the movie.

Like Christian Grey's controlling nature, reports has it that the James had a much involved participation over the making of the movie. Among the many issues about her much involvement was the time she fought over Johnson with the final scene as reported by Cinema Blend.

According to MovieTVTech Geeks, rarely does a studio give much control to the author over adapting their book. A very unusual event in Hollywood that the moment the author sign the rights to their books are cast aside but after the wildly auction of the rights to the popular book, Universal Pictures got the bid and gave more control to the author that what is normally given.

Cinema Blend's sources said got the scoop that in the ending Johnson and his team wanted to end the movie with Anastasia saying, "red", which was the couple's safe word, after Christian dished out his inner sex demon to her, leaving Anastasia frightened and leave. Unfortunately, Johnson's idea was shoved over because James decided the final word to be "stop".

The 51-year-old author freely exercised the control the studio gave her creating heated battle between her the director over the last say on the film. The director said in a report from Examiner:

"It was difficult, I'm not going to lie. We definitely fought, but they were creative fights, and we would resolve them. We would have proper on-set 'barneys', and I'm not confrontational, but it was finding a way between the two of us, satisfying her vision of what she'd written as well as my need to visualize this person on-screen, but you know, we got there."

Issues might have been rolling around the set for making the entire film, but it is still expected that the movie be will be filling out seats in cinemas this coming Valentine's day.
