Returning Star Wars characters Luke Skywalker and Han Solo and other older generation stars may not be playing the vital central roles in the film's latest installment Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens.
Cinema Blend reported that Skywalker's Mark Hamill seems to be implying in an interview with the L.A. Times that the original casts-Hamill, George Harrison, Warwick Davis and Carrie Fisher-- will have less exposure for their reprisal role for the film.
In fact, the 63-year-old actor even stressed it would be fine not coming back at all which critics presume the original characters does not fully complement the continuity of the plot.
"I would have been completely okay with it not including us, but I do think having the original cast members there gives it a sense of continuity and scope. But mind you, it's really about the new generation, it's not about us," Hamill told the L.A. Times.
Fans yearning for their supposed grand comeback for the impending science-fiction flick seems to be thwarted by the news.
The original Star Wars had driven the successful career pathway for Hamill.
However, neither Luke nor any of his classic trilogy fellow legends are central to the J.J. Abrams-directed film.
In the first trailer of the 2015 flick shows that Hamill and older stars that the seventh chapter in the Star Wars saga will revolve around younger stars. The central figures of the film include Daisy Ridley's Rey, John Boyega's Finn and Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron.
Many diehard fans are still in high hopes that Star Wars Episode 7 will suffice their almost-insatiable anticipation like that of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace in 1999 that sent a huge thrusts in the movie box office.
Meanwhile, J.J. Abrams expressed his joy at the 13th annual Visual Effects Society Awards in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, saying that directing the The Force Awakens is "a dream come true."
Abrams directed successful franchises of Mission Impossible and Star Trek as well as hit TV series Alias and Lost.
Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens is coming out in theaters on December 18, 2015.
