Creators behind "The Walking Dead" are receiving a lot of response and criticisms on how the midseason premiere returned. Episode 9 of the Season 5 of the series entitled "What Happened and What's Going On" once again caught the attention of the die-hard viewers of the series and the whole nation is back on being hooked once more to this zombie-slashing drama anthology.
Episode 9 started with a graveyard being dig. It was unclear whether this is for Beth but with Maggie on the bylines crying her heart out, it was easy to conclude that the grave was indeed for lovely Beth. But then scenes from the past started flashing on screen. A picture of twins, a painting of a lovely home and then the sisters, Mika and Lizzie returns onscreen. And as expected, intrigued was clearly introduced to the scene with blood dripping on a painting.
Devastated but not feeling helpless, the group decide to with Noah to Richmond. Noah strongly believes that home was a safe place to go to. Rick, together with Tyrese, Glenn, Noah and Michone went off to Shirewilt to check if they could possibly find sanctuary in the place.
And just like a series of unfortunate events, the place was overrun. Seems like the group are running out of a safe place they can call home.
Carol and the rest of the group were nowhere to be found but were constantly on the radio with Rick. Tyrese on the other hand stood by Noah while the rest of the group swipe the town for supplies. Noah went for a run to his old home and was followed by Tyrese. While busy looking at the pictures in Noah's home, a kid zombie jumped and took a bite on Tyrese's arms before Noah even managed to arrive and kill the monster.
Then the hallucinations began. Martin, the guy from Gareth's group took the opportunity to play the "blame game" with Tyrese. Martin was like, "You know, if you would've just killed me then Bob probably wouldn't be dead and we would never tracked you guys to the church, you know."
The Bob was suddenly in the scene said his piece and then the Governor appeared just beside the door. People from the past like the sisters Mika and Lizzie also appeared in front of Tyrese. Then the image of the governor suddenly shifted into a zombie and attacked Tyrese. Another bite on Tyrese's arms and by the looks of it, viewers most likely would have already reached a conclusion that Tyrese would be dead by the end of the show.
While Tyrese tries to hold on to dear life, Michone was trying to convince Rick to go to Washington and take the chance even if Eugene has already admitted his lies about knowing how to make the cure. Just like the recent spoilers on the series, Michone asked Rick, "Were close, what if there are people there, what if it is some place where we can be safe, a hundred miles away, it's a possibility, it's a chance....."Don't you want one more day with a chance?" And just like it was the on cue, Noah shouted for help and zombies where all around them.
Tyrese continues with his hallucinations. Bet appeared with a guitar singing while Tyrese seems to at the edge of dying. He seems to be in a battle from the things he did in the past. He was never built for a world like this. The killing was never in his personality and it created a battle inside him, creating the hallucinations that he was having while holding on to dear life.
Rick, trying to save his people took another risk and cut Tyrese arms, well Michone was the one who did the cutting with the help of her handy samurai. They were suddenly running all together, trying to escape the place. Flashbacks on the brutal killings Tyrese had to witness in the past were also running fast as they try to escape the place.
And then, there Tyrese was, inside a car with Beth, Bob, Lizzie and Mika; acting like what seems to be angels from above coming to bring him to a better place.
The grave that was being dig earlier was never for Beth, but was all along for Tyrese.
"The Walking Dead" airs every Sunday night on AMC.
