Dreams do come true, as JJ Abrams described how happy he is that his directing the Star Wars: Episode VII-The Force awakens. The director describes the feeling to be a 'dream come true'.
As reported by Deadline, Abrams revealed that the past years when his working on 'Star Wars:The Force Awakens', "in the world of light sabers and tie fighters" has reportedly been "absolutely challenging " for him.
On his acceptance speech at the Visual Effects Society Award, he thanked Lucasfilm for making his lifetime dream a reality. Abrams also expressed his utmost gratitude to the head of the Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy.
"I want to thank Kathy Kenedy for saying the word, 'Do you want to direct Star Wars?' and actually being in a position to let me direct Star Wars."
According to Daily Mail, Abrams and Kennedy met in December 2012 at his Bad Robot office in Santa Monica to dicuss about a possible Star Wars movie project, this happened months after he turned down the original offer. His reason of declining the offer was that he wanted to concentrate on original material instead of a franchise on something that has already made six films.
Abrams sat down with Collider and he reaveled that some parts of the movie used computer-generated practical effects. He said that an 'old school' approach was done on the said effects, it is said that the CG effects are done The director credited this capability to numerous tools available during this 'age, of filmmaking'.
The film will also include the original Star Wars actors, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Warwick Davis. Alongside them are the new members of the force Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac and Lupita Nyong'o.
The seventh installment of the Star Wars franchise is the continuation of the saga created by George Lucas set thirty years after the sixth franchise, Star Wars:Return of the Jedi.
This much-awaited film will surely awaken the forces of Star Wars fans as it will be coming in theatres this coming December 18.
