Call Of Duty 2015 from Treyarch: Is it really worth the hype and excitement?

By

Call Of Duty, a franchise that is very well-known to video game fans worldwide, has announced the latest in its series is to be made by Treyarch. After the release of Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare last year, there are already rumours that a new Call Of Duty game is already being developed for its release this year. Polygon.com reports that Activision publishing CEO Eric Hirschberg confirmed the development of the game's latest version and that the developer is no other than Treyarch. Some of us may question the idea that Treyarch will be the one to develop this latest version and while some may even doubt that they can make the new game even better than its predecessors.

So why Treyarch, and why the excitement?

First off, Activision has a new game schedule which is a three-year, three-studio development schedule as mentioned in gamespot.com. The other studios were Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games. Since last year's Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare was developed by Sledgehammer and 2013's Call Of Duty: Ghosts was by Infinity Ward, it is pretty obvious to expect this year's game to come from Treyarch.

Secondly, Treyarch has created the Call Of Duty: Black Ops series. That being said is enough to start some excitement for some of us who loved the series. Call Of Duty: Black Ops and Call Of Duty: Black Ops II were very popular not just among Call Of Duty hardcore fans but also with the first-person shooting game aficionados, and for all it's worth, Black Ops II even held the record for the largest ever entertainment launch in history in any form of entertainment before the release of Grand Theft Auto V according to a Wikipedia article on Treyarch.

Hirschberg even stated that Call Of Duty: Black Ops and Call Of Duty: Black Ops II "remain the biggest-selling titles in franchise history". Activision added that a "top team" will be working on a yet-to-be announced release according to vg247.com. However we can not tell yet if they were talking about this year's version or the one to be made by Infinity Ward come 2016. For now all we can do is wait and hope that all of this will be worth waiting for, and for us die-hard Call Of Duty fans, let's enjoy Call Of Duty:Advanced Warfare for the moment.
