'Street Fighter 4' finally has its sequel to release this year. Plus, this legendary game franchise will be exclusively in PS 4 and PC platforms according to the game developer. However, there are no further details announced by Capcom about the game sequel.
Captioned with a line "Rise Up," the sequel seems to emphasize to gamers that with the new game version of 'Street Fighter,' it will be a more exciting and the developers have really thought about the gameplay really hard. Furthermore, as cited by Inquisitr, the debut trailer that Capcom had released contained the preview of the characters as well as the game play per se.
As seen from the trailer, it also hinted that the sequel of the legendary game will not appear in Xbox platforms. According to the Xbox gaming executive Phil Spencer, they'd rather invest to another project, 'Killer Instinct' which is a Microsoft's own fighting game franchise than investing to Street Fighter because of some business deals.
"Business deals happen ... We won't do all of them. When we have a first party franchise in a genre I'd rather invest in ours. Another thing considered by the company is their move towards owning IP which is really critical for them.
He added, "There's a mix of deals to do ... But making sure we own IP [that] Xbox gamers love is critical [in my opinion]."
He also explained that as much as he wanted to include all games to the Xbox platform, they should also consider the business deals that they have to do as part of the competition.
One of the concerns of Xbox upon dealing with doing the game is the financial instability of Capcom. It was reported that the company's year-in-year revenue dropped as much as 51%. This resulted to let Microsoft do 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' as an exclusive Xbox One which was previously from Square Enix since the company can help with the game's funding. Inquisitr described the response of the gaming executive to the fan's questions in Twitter "sanguine."
On the other side, news about Square Enix to develop the 'Street Fighter' sequel with Capcom was also reported. Inquisitr cited that the 'Street Fighter' producer Yoshinori Ono wanted to keep the game in a small developer costs. Thus, the said rumored developer to work with the sequel might be possible.
The game producer explained that with developing the sequel it costed a lot of money plus it would take much time to release the game because there are many characters involved.
He said, "The first reason is, they cost a lot of money to make ... and the second reason, which is the main one, is that with so many characters in the game, working on counter-strategies in match-ups takes so much time, that we're in danger of leaving newcomers completely behind."
Meanwhile, 'Street Fighter 5' introduces new character like Charlie Nash in the gameplay. He wasn't a prominent character from the previous gameplays, however, the character was listed among the top ten that gamers wanted to see in Ultra Street Fighters 4 and in Street Fighter's top 21 most-requested to be included in Namco's Tekken X Street Fighter.
'Street Fighter 5' will be exclusively in PS4 and PC platforms as announced last year and will be available later this year.
