"Terminator 5: Genisys" will pave the way for a new timeline in John Connor's universe. The recently revealed teaser trailer reveals a more complicated plot with Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role as T-800.
Ever since the trailer for "Terminator 5: Genisys" has been revealed a lot of fans was intrigued by the plot of the upcoming movie. In the trailer, John Connor sent Kyle Reese back in time to save Sarah Connor. However, Reese saw a different timeline in his jump and things were changed. There are also two Schwarzenegger shown, an old T-800 and the young T-800. Another T-1000 was also sent back to terminate Connor and Reese.
David Ellison and Dana Goldberg, the producers of "Terminator 5: Genisys", shared that the new Sarah Connor will be a lot different from the previous Sarah Conor of Linda Hamilton. In the upcoming movie, Sarah will be raised by Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800 since she was nine years old. She will then grew up with Schwarzenegger and refer to him as "Pops". All of the events in the film will revolve around 1984 and 1991.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will be reprising his role as T-800 for the fourth time since the dawn of the Terminator movies. According to a recent report, the Schwarzenegger said that "I knew eventually that another Terminator was going to get made. People always have to go through that painful experience of doing a sequel, or something like that, without me". He further explained that "When I look at history, anytime a movie was well-done, it was huge. If a movie is made well, if it's a great character, if it's well acted out, then people are going to come and see it. It's so simple."
Matt Smith, one of his co-actor in the upcoming "Terminator 5: Genisys," also agreed saying that the film will be a huge success. He explained that "It's like going on tour again if you're Pink Floyd - the audience always wants to hear some of the old songs. There are enough nods to the past that people will feel satisfied."
"Terminator 5: Genisys" will hit the silver screen this July 1, 2015. Fans can expect two more sequels in the Terminator film franchise according to Paramount Pictures. Scheduled dates for the upcoming sequels will be on May 19, 2017 and June 29, 2018.
